Message this clip of my 240Z. 240-Z engine

You can't deny the simplicity of the I-6 Z motors: All 6 plugs are easily accesible. You can almost do an oil change without jacking up the car, and you can look through the engine bay and actually see the ground. The trickiest part of these cars is synchronizing the carbs and doing an occasional valve adjustment.

It's been way too many years since this car has been on the road - I stopped driving it so I can move ahead on the restoration. A couple of years ago, I began stripping the body (finding more bondo than I had hoped to find). I've got maybe 25% of the stripping underway and then stopped to pay more attention to my family (well, the TT comes first and then the wife and kids are somewhere on the priority list too :-P ).

Now with "Dave's Garage" moving into it's second year of keeping me busy on weekends, I'm not sure when I'll get around to working on it again - it does make for a convenient place to put my FSM when I'm working on other cars :-/

Anyway, I thought I'd post this clip for those who weren't around when carbs referred to something other than things to avoid in one's diet.

Enjoy,

Dave
